Or could it have been, this flag???
I pledge allegiance ...

Allegiance is a great thing ...yet, each country has some of patriotic pride. Do we place utmost importance upon who wins? Or do we stay loyal to where we live?
I believe great respect and gratitude should be given those who serve to protect our country. I also give much thanks to those who serve to protect our communities ...our various law enforcement agencies, and officers.
Flags do change, at times ...as nations also change.
What can be considered a good nation ...and one that is not??
And whether good, or not ...it is not necessarily the majority of the people's fault.
People should still have value given to them as persons.
And I believe the highest value each person can attain ...is by accepting the value that is given them by God.
I pledge allegiance to God, to Whom I hope and pray our nation will strive together under His guidance to be indivisible, with the liberty to follow His ways, being compassionate and just to all. And if our flag represents all that ...then it stands for much, otherwise it is no more significant than any other flag waving the banner of whichever agenda is the present one. Under God, the variables are not random nor as the winds blow.
The glue that holds our nation together ...does not merely adhere one piece of paper or document to another. It is the whole, the entirety of the Word of God ...not taken in part, which holds us together.
Otherwise, we paste a random collection of values into a collage, perhaps satisfying the glib majority with its inclusiveness ...yet, eventually ending up in a pile of likely collective memories, home to spiders & roaches as it is tossed into a compost of refuse.

The tragic facts of how many die during the line of duty. They are armed, but so are many of those they have to come up against. The Department of Defense ...is to that extent, to defend.
Those who go on the offensive ...we often do not have prior information to that. That is why much time and effort is put forth to gather intelligence.
Wisdom is the correct use of intelligence. And it is time to make mention of the service done by Jesus. He did not appear to fight back ...because He was fighting a battle that sadly many don't know about.
